From gamespot " Guild Wars Nightfall is scheduled to launch on October 26."
26? I thought it's 27.

Doesn't matter. Most stores don't get their copies out until a day or two later anyway.

This is a thread for discussing the gamespot article; not for Prophecies vs Factions. Let's just drop it and get back on topic.

To me the wording of the preview seems to suggest very obviously that Chapter 3 is like Chapter 1 and not like Chapter 2.
I also think the writer was stretching the truth quite a bit to say Factions has a "persistant war" considering that the battles only ever take place in non-persistant instances and it's not really a war since no side can ever win or lose.

Yes, October 27th. GameSpot erred on that date. We'll put the servers live at 12:01 PDT (7:01 GMT) on Friday, October 27th.

This is what interests me:

The idea is to feature not only combat, but also interactivity with the environment.

I want to really interract with the enviroment. It would be nice to walk across some shallow water, perhaps allow swimming. Also, being able to scale reasonable hills and incline/declines would be nice. Possible even picking up objects or damaging objects in world as well. I hope this means something like that!!

I have been hearing really postive feed back on other rpg fourms! There are some people who are ify ify
For some people they want to try the new heros. For some other people it is because of better rpg.
Some people want to try the new mount.
The only bad feed back is some people say that gw doesnot have enough content, meaning not as much stuff as the other mmo's out there.
It is looking good for sure, however they are still alot big name mmos coming out like Marvel online, plus games like never winter nights. However I feel that gw nightfall will be for sure in the top 4 for sales for aleast 4 to 5 months.
The rest is really up to the marketing team.

That's becos they're making it with a PvE focus like Prophecies, not the PvP focus of Chapter 2. I think the author doesn't really play GW himself. Dervish dual-wielding? Hmm... if that's possible, then it'll be really cool.
And also, what's that point about the game being too fast? I think it's only fast if you choose to take it fast. Some people like to just rush through everything, others just like to take it slowly and thoroughly and enjoy the process.

I believe Dreamhunk is talking about a Nightfall quest that supposedly allows you to "control" a Giant Wurm, even getting Wurm skills. It only works in specfic area of Nightfall, so it's not really a "mount" in the traditional sense.
(first mentioned in PC Gamer, to my knowledge)
